700% Improvement in Unload Times. Every Shift.

Dock supervisors were building schedules manually from emailed spreadsheets before every shift. Vantage 9 automated the process and delivered schedules before supervisors arrived.

The Challenge

At shift start, dock supervisors spent significant time manually building dock schedules from spreadsheets sent via email. Demand for dock space frequently exceeded availability, hot loads competed with standard inbound, and the manual process created delays before a single trailer had been unloaded. The dependency on a supervisor's knowledge and time to produce the schedule created a bottleneck that affected every shift, every day.

What We Built

Vantage 9 automated dock schedule generation based on inbound volume, dock availability, and priority rules. Schedules were generated automatically and delivered to supervisors on tablets and dock display screens before their shift began. Hot load prioritization was built into the scheduling logic, ensuring priority freight received available doors without manual intervention.

The Outcome

Unload times improved by 700%. Doors available for hot loads increased by 500%. Supervisors arrived to shifts with schedules already generated and visible on their tablets — eliminating the manual build time entirely and ensuring the first trailer could be assigned before the shift officially started.
